The IARI Alumni Association (IAA) has reached a significant milestone, one that has been years in the making. On April 15, 2025, we proudly inaugurated our permanent office on the campus of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. This long-awaited achievement represents a new chapter in the history of our association, providing us with a dedicated space for alumni engagement, collaboration, and continued growth.
A Dream Fulfilled
The day has finally arrived when the IARI Alumni Association has its own fully functional office to operate from, a milestone that many of us have been eagerly anticipating. This office will serve as the heart of our association’s activities, providing a centralized location to support initiatives that strengthen the bond between alumni, the institute, and the broader agricultural research community.
Leadership That Made It Possible
The successful realization of this dream was made possible under the visionary leadership of our President, Dr. R.S. Paroda, whose unwavering support guided this project from concept to completion. The association is deeply grateful for the tireless contributions of our dedicated patrons and office bearers.
We are especially thankful to Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director of IARI, who, as Chief Patron, has been instrumental in turning this vision into a reality. His ongoing support has ensured that the Alumni Association has the resources and encouragement it needs to grow and thrive.
Prior to Dr. Srinivasa Rao, Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh served as Chief Patron and laid the foundational groundwork for this office. It was under his guidance that the building work began, and his commitment to the alumni community set the stage for the successful completion of this important project.
We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Anupama Singh, Dean of IARI and Patron, for her continued patronage and encouragement, as well as to the entire executive committee, including Vice Presidents Dr. R.C. Agrawal and Dr. G.K. Mahapatro, General Secretary Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary Dr. Sridhar Gutam, Treasurer Dr. Rajarshi Roy Burman, and members Dr. B.M. Prasanna, Dr. Malvika Dadlani, Dr. Amarender Reddy, Dr. V. Govindaswamy, and Dr. Manu S.M., as well as ex-officio members Dr. K.V. Prabhu and Dr. S.L. Mehta.

The grand inauguration ceremony, held at 12:00 noon on April 15, 2025, was a momentous occasion attended by alumni, faculty members, and dignitaries. The event featured a ceremonial opening, a tour of the newly constructed office space, and reflections on the journey that led to this moment. It was a time of celebration, unity, and excitement for what lies ahead for the IARI Alumni Association.

The new office stands as a symbol of unity and progress, representing the strength and vibrancy of the IARI alumni network. It will serve as a hub for various alumni initiatives, including mentoring programs, networking opportunities, and research collaborations. We are confident that this space will facilitate even stronger connections between alumni, students, and the institute, ensuring that our collective knowledge and resources continue to contribute to the advancement of agricultural research and education.
